DESCRIPTION:

Prolia 60mg  is a human monoclonal antibody for the treatment of osteoporosis, convinced bone loss, bone metastases and giant cell tumor. Prolia 60 mg contraindicated in people with low calcium in the blood.

INDICATION:

ACTION MECHANISM:

The Denosumab ( Prolia 60mg injection ) mechanism , targeting a protein called RANKL, which is required for new osteoclasts to be made and functioning. DOSAGE MANAGEMENT:

For adults:

The prescribed dose is Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis 60mg SC q6months.

For the children:
The prescribed dose is 13 years and over and 45 kg or more for Giant Bone Cell Tumor: The recommended dose is 120 mg tablet Prolia administered SC, with additional doses of 120 mg on days 8 and 15 of the first month of treatment every 4 weeks.

OVERDOSE:

There is no experience of overdose Prolia 60mg injection . If it occurs, take the patient to the emergency department and call for poison control  

Precautions:

• Before starting denosumab it should be corrected. Hypocalcemia can worsen, especially in patients with renal impairment. Sufficiently supplements patients with calcium and vitamin D.
